The weather up north is quite a bit cooler than in the Valley. With temperatures in the 30's our big coats and sleeping bags came in handy. We began the camporee experience by going on Vesper's trail. There were six stations which described six miracles that ensured the authoring of the Constitution. This ended with donuts and hot chocolate.
In the morning we were welcomed with pancakes cooked by the camporee staff. Afterwards we began the activities. The scouts decided to do liberty hall, rifle shooting, geo caching, candle making, flute making, and then ended with two camp-wide games of capture the flag. The blue team won the second game!
The scouts experienced a lot of fun and learned more about the history of the United States. In addition, they were able to serve their fellow scouts. Scouting is truly an excellent way to gain experiences and grow as an individual and a unit.
